Das Public Health Filmfestival bringt Menschen zusammen, die an öffentlicher, globaler und planetarer Gesundheit interessiert sind. Die Teilnahme ist kostenfrei und für jeden zugänglich.

Es ermutigt Teilnehmende über das Medium Film unterschiedliche Perspektiven einzunehmen, kritisch zu reflektieren und gemeinsam mit anderen Interessierten über aktuelle Themen der Public Health zu diskutieren.

Das Festival trägt dazu bei, Public Health sichtbarer zu machen und die interdisziplinäre Vernetzung voranzutreiben.

Initital wurde das PHFF im Rahmen des Wettbewerbs "Kleine Fächer: Sichtbar innovativ!" der Hochschulrektorenkonferenz durch Mittel des Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung gefördert, fand im April 2021 das erste Mal statt und wird mittlerweile von der Pettenkofer School of Public Health an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München getragen.

The Public Health Film Festival brings together people interested in public, global and planetary health. Participation is free and open to everyone.

It encourages participants to adopt different perspectives through the medium of film, to reflect critically and to discuss current public health issues with other interested people.

The festival contributes to making public health more visible and to promoting interdisciplinary networking.

The PHFF was initiated as part of the competition "Small Subjects: Visibly Innovative!" of the German Rectors' Conference and funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. It took place for the first time in April 2021 and is now supported by the Pettenkofer School of Public Health at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.

Patrona of the film festival is Prof. Eva Rehfuess.
