VERGIFTETE WAHRHEIT

Attorney Robert Bilott uncovers what a chemical company concealed for decades: the chemical PFOA, used in the production of Teflon, is entering the drinking water of an entire region in West Virginia unchecked, with serious consequences for the health of the local population. Against massive resistance and at the expense of his own career, Bilott fights for years for transparency and justice. Based on a true story, the film shows how long industry interests can be placed above health and the environment.

Afterwards, we will speak with experts from science and practice about water pollution, particularly in drinking water, and about the current situation here in Germany: How safe is our drinking water really? How are pollutants such as PFAS detected and regulated in the first place? And what effects does water pollution have on our health?
