CYCLING CITIES
With a camera and a bicycle, filmmaker Ingwar Perowanowitsch sets off from Freiburg and spends two months cycling across Europe – travelling to Paris, Ghent, Amsterdam, Utrecht, Groningen, Hamburg and Copenhagen. He wants to find out what makes these cities so liveable, what makes a city truly bicycle-friendly, and what conditions are needed to drive forward the transition to sustainable mobility and reshape our cities. The result is a new story of mobility that shows: the challenge is less a lack of space than the political will to rethink our cities.
After the film, we will talk with experts from science and practice about urban design, transport and health – and about the current situation here in Munich: How does the design of our streets and public spaces affect our health? What political decisions are needed to bring about change in our city? And what does it take to make sustainable mobility possible for everyone?
