About the Public Health Filmfestival
The Public Health Filmfestival is an event organised by the Pettenkofer School of Public Health. Once a year, it brings together people in Munich and online who are interested in public, global and planetary health. Participation is open to everyone.
The Public Health Filmfestival encourages participants to take on different perspectives via the medium of film, to reflect critically and to discuss current topics of public health together with others interested. The festival contributes to making public health more visible and promoting interdisciplinary networking.
Initially the Public Health Filmfestival was funded as part of the competition "Small subjects: visible innovative!" of the German Rectors' Conference with funds from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and took place for the first time in April 2021. It is now funded by the Pettenkofer School of Public Health at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and supported by the Munich Science Communication Lab.
The patron of the film festival is Prof. Eva Rehfuess.
